A personal growth seminar with the release of his new book!

Becoming . . .

Let us create the lives we were born to live – it’s our time.

Belief systems are individual and subjective.  Without understanding their origins, we become stuck in patterns and cycles; there is difficulty moving forward.  Becoming . . . acts as a mirror, a guide for those of us who could use some help figuring out why we find it so difficult to extricate ourselves from the negative situations life throws our way, and why we seem to keep repeating mistakes we already know, at some basic level, how to avoid.  Through the exploration of self-perception and the factors that influence the way we live and behave, we can rise above fixed patterns and transform the self.  Employing the common-sense wisdom of people with whom we are familiar and trust, like Oprah, Dr. Phil, Dr. Wayne Dyer, and others, Mierop maps out ways to avoid the encumbrances with which negative experiences and self-doubt often imprison us.

Editorial Review:

An uncited quote often attributed to Anaïs Nin suggests:

“We do not see things as they are, we see things as we are.”

In his book Becoming . . . , motivational speaker and life coach, Jack Mierop, argues that we are able to change our perception through rigorous self-examination of the personal theories that have long since become implicit aspects of our personality. Furthermore, by changing—or at the very least explicitly re-evaluating—those theories we can better take control of our lives and change the world around us, or at least our experience of it. Through self-awareness, we can achieve growth. Through the recognition of choice, we can better take personal responsibility for our own behavior so as to better captain our own souls (as William Ernest Henley might put it).

It is a good read. The writing is lucid, engaging, and straightforward. One can tell by the even, confident tone that the author is an individual who understands how to speak to diverse groups of people and get his point across. He makes good use of humor, storytelling, and biography. The chapters follow a logical progression, and what he has to say makes sense. There is very little in the way of “oogly-boogly new age nonsense” although he does briefly wander into The Law of Attraction/The Secret territory near the end of the manuscript—thankfully this is not a crucial element to his thesis.

Mr. Mierop should be very proud indeed with what he has accomplished.

Sincerely,
The Editor

Habits of the Unconscious Mind

The human brain is capable of processing millions of pieces of information every second, a vast majority of which are unconscious. Just as personal habits of behavior become part of our daily routines, where we don’t have conscious control of that behavior, habits of thought also become influencing factors of our everyday attitudes about just about everything. The unconscious nature of those thoughts leaves us on “automatic pilot,” unaware of their origins or the effects they have on our lives. In “Habits . . .” Jack discusses how to expose these habits of thought and allow us to choose which of them to keep and which of them to shed.

You are cordially invited to join Jack in Fruita, Colorado for a discussion about the unconscious habits of thought that guide our daily lives and attitudes entitled, Habits of the Unconscious Mind.

Hope to see you there!
